Mon people celebrate Songkran with pot dance | Bangkok Post: news

(Photos by Piyarach Chongcharoen)KANCHANABURI - Thais with roots from the Mon hill tribe from Myanmar and Mon people celebrated the Songkran festival cherishing the traditional pot dance on Monday morning. The traditional celebration was held at Wat Phu Takhien in tambon Tha Sao of Sai Yok district. The monks were later carried to be seated for a traditional Thai bathing ceremony for Songkran by locals and tourists. Wat Phu Takhien is the only temple in the border district to hold the traditional ceremony.
